The new Panasonic HPG-20 P2 deck is capable of recording onto and transfering from P2 cards easily. Featuring AVC-Intra recording, the portable P2 deck provides instant playback, recording, and file copying of 10-bit, 4:2:2 content in the field. Equipped with two P2 card slots and a 3.5" LCD monitor, the deck allows you to view content immediately in a variety of formats - whether it's 10-bit, 4:2:2 AVC-Intra or DVCPRO HD or standard-def DVCPRO50, DVCPRO, and DV. The unit's HD/SD-SDI inputs give the flexibility of HD or SD line recording from a wide range of video sources, bridging content to and from taped-based systems without additional hardware needed.
The HPG-20 can also be mounted on-board any of our full-sized cameras to serve as a record deck, allowing duplicate recording on any tape format and P2 cards simultaneously. The deck can be programmed to start/stop both recording devices jointly when the operator hits the record button on the camera (guaranteeing footage is always recorded simultaneously on tape and P2 cards). It also provides the Producer and/or Sound Mixer a convenient, easy-to-see color monitor behind the operator with HD and SD outputs which can be looped to additional monitors or wireless video units.
