Genna had no idea what she was getting into when she accepted a job as an administrative assistant at Florida Production Center in 1981, although that experience drastically changed her life forever. After 8 years of gaining intense insight and training in the film/video industry, she left the Production Manager position to join John Mincey of Portland, OR, a well-established commercial director producing/shooting high-end commercials all over the country. Hiring 35mm film crews with 20+ locals and sub-renting all types of equipment in unknown markets was definitely a relentless challenge, although she is still grateful for the invaluable production knowledge she obtained. After living on the road for over a year, she and Gregg realized they were ready to start a production company of their own.
Genna now serves as the company's staff Production Manager, with over 30 years experience in the industry. Her knowledge is vast and varied, from coordinating big-budget national commercials/short films to traveling the world with smaller film/video crews. Every GPS project is managed by Genna; from budgeting, scheduling, hiring, coordinating, billing and attending to each client's needs. Since GPS owns so many cameras/recording formats, her "edge" as a Production Manager is understanding and educating others (especially clients) on the ever-changing technology.
